Cupcakes

A couple of Bea's friends from work, Becca and Evi, came over tonight and made dinner for us. Evi brought some cupcakes from Sprinkles. This is the uber-trendy cupcake place that always has a line out the door for cupcakes that cost a pretty penny. They are quite tasty.

We had four cupcakes and cut them into four pieces each and we got to try all of them. There was a Chocolate Coconut, Ginger Lemon, Strawberry Banana, and a Red Velvet. Our rule was that we couldn't just eat them. We had to take a bite, savor it, and then discuss. My favorite was the Red Velvet - smooth, sweet, but not too rich. The Strawberry Banana was next, then Ginger Lemon, and finally the chocolate coconut. The chocolate one was really dry. Overall, the cupcakes were a bit more dry than usual.

Tonight, it was kind of like I was one of the girls at a slumber party or something. I guess that's my life now with having a wife and two daughters!! I don't mind. I'm glad that Bea has awesome friends who love her tons.

I kind of feel like I am a cupcake expert because they are my favorite treat in the world. Although I dread paying $3.25 for a cupcake, I do describe those Sprinkles cupcakes as "a little slice of heaven". In fact, I was at Sprinkles today. I have never had or even heard of strawberry banana and am slightly jealous! My favorites are chai latte (only avaliable on Friday and banana with vanilla frosting)
I am glad you got to experience the goodness of Sprinkles!

My favorite is the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip. Not the one with the chocolate cupcake, but the peanut butter one with the chocolate chips. I don't even like peanut butter things and I LOVE that cupcake. I admit that I was very skepitcal at first of Sprinkles because I do make a kick ass cake myself but these are quite tasty. I mostly love that there are so man options, I could be going there for a long time.

Becky - I think the strawberry banana was a mistake. It was a cupcake with a strawberry label on top, but it had the banana bread type cake part with the strawberry flavored frosting. Yummy.
